Aggressive Chinese pipa DnB hardstyle battle electronic, 170 bpm, purely instrumental, no vocals, no singing, commentary-clear. The Phantom: swoops at the sleep-deprived because that is the trigger — naive nocturnal punishment, no concept of why sleeplessness marks you. Pipa battle techniques evolved: gun → amen roll, tan → hardstyle kick, tiao → reverse bass, sha → hard cut. War drums → sub-bass at each swoop. Erhu high register: banshee scream above the battle. Three simultaneous pipa attacks: the raid. DAWN: 7-9kHz crystalline opens as the Phantom burns — brightness as death. ADHD: single swoop then silence; three attacks; half-time circle then full dive; dawn inversion. Frequency: sub 20-50Hz night, kick 60-120Hz, pipa bass 60-200Hz, void 300-1500Hz commentary-clear, erhu 1.5-3kHz, pipa attack 2-4kHz, 7-9kHz crystalline at dawn. It does not know it is afraid of the light.

Lyrics

[NO VOCALS. NO SINGING. NO SPOKEN WORD. PURELY INSTRUMENTAL.]
[ALL BRACKETED CONTENT IS TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION ONLY. DO NOT SING.]

[Instrumental Genesis — Night Falls]
[Sub 20-50Hz: night — the dark that makes the Phantom real — heavy, absolute]
[4 bars: only sub — you have not slept — the Phantom has spawned — it is already above you]
[It does not know it is circling your house. It only knows you have not slept.]

[Instrumental Architecture — The Night Layers]
[Layer 1: Sub 20-50Hz — night, always — receding only at dawn]
[Layer 2: Battle kick 60-120Hz — each swoop impact, 170 BPM]
[Layer 3: Pipa bass 60-200Hz — gun rolling strike and tan downstroke, low register]
[Layer 4: Void 300-1500Hz — commentary-clear — the air between swoop and impact]
[Layer 5: Erhu high register 1.5-3kHz — the banshee scream — not yet arrived]
[Layer 6: Pipa attack 2-4kHz — tiao upstroke and sha hard cut above the void]
[Layer 7: 7-9kHz EMPTY — crystalline withheld — will open at dawn, not at peak]

[Instrumental FIRST SWOOP — Single Strike]
[Pipa tan: single downstroke — hardstyle kick — one swoop — one impact]
[Sub 20-50Hz: surge at impact — the ground receiving the Phantom's weight]
[Silence: 4 bars — the Phantom circling back — no second strike yet]
[ADHD catch 1: single massive impact — brain models continuation — receives silence — wrong]
[The Phantom is still above. It is always still above.]

[Instrumental CIRCLING — Erhu Enters, The Scream]
[Erhu high register 1.5-3kHz: enters — Wu Sheng pentatonic minor — the banshee scream]
[This is not a melody that describes the Phantom. This is the sound the Phantom is.]
[Pipa tiao: upstrokes between erhu peaks — the reverse bass in the attack gaps]
[Battle kick 60-120Hz: 170 BPM — each revolution of the Phantom overhead — indifferent, exact]
[Sub 20-50Hz: steady — the night holding everything under]
[ADHD catch 2: erhu scream enters wrong — too emotional for a combat track — and completely right]

[Instrumental THREE PHANTOMS — The Raid]
[Pipa attack line 2: enters — second swoop pattern — different timing, different angle]
[Pipa attack line 3: enters — third Phantom — the raid is here]
[Three simultaneous pipa attacks: gun roll + tan strike + tiao upstroke all running]
[Erhu: still screaming above all three — the wail does not stop for the raid]
[ADHD catch 3: three attack lines incompatible — brain fragments — each fragment a swoop]

[Instrumental HALF-TIME CIRCLE — The Phantoms Above]
[SAME 170 BPM. ATTACK PATTERNS: half-time body — 85 BPM feel — the circling overhead]
[The raid is not the swoop. The raid is the circling that makes the swoop inevitable.]
[Erhu: slower phrases — the scream becoming a held wail — the wolf waiting to descend]
[Sub 20-50Hz: deepest here — the weight of three Phantoms overhead at once]
[ADHD catch 4: full-speed body receives half-time weight — the circling feels like falling]

[Instrumental DIVE — Full Speed, Maximum Force]
[170 BPM FULL BODY: ALL THREE ATTACK LINES MAXIMUM — the dive begins]
[SHA HARD CUT: every fourth beat — pipa muted stop — the Phantom pulling up before the next dive]
[ERHU MAXIMUM: full register scream — Wu Sheng minor at peak amplitude]
[BATTLE KICK: every beat — 170 BPM — impacts continuous]
[SUB 20-50Hz MAXIMUM: the night at full weight — the dark at full force]
[ADHD catch 5: maximum three-attack convergence — brain overwhelmed — every hit a surprise]

[Instrumental DAWN — The Brightness That Destroys]
[SUB 20-50Hz: DROPS — the night receding — the weight lifting — wrong in a bad way]
[WARM FREQUENCIES: entering above 1.5kHz — soft, growing — the dawn light]
[Erhu: pitch rising — the scream going higher — the Phantom burning]
[Pipa attacks: dropping out — one — two — three — the raid ending]
[7-9kHz CRYSTALLINE ENTERS: the brightness that destroys — the light is maximum — the Phantom is dying]
[ADHD catch 6: brain expected crystalline at peak force — receives it at the Phantom's death — wrong meaning, right frequency]
[The Phantom does not know this light is different from any other light.]

[Instrumental Dissolution — Burning]
[Erhu: fading — still high register — still the scream — quieter]
[Battle kick: last few impacts — slowing — the final swoops]
[Sub 20-50Hz: gone — the night is over]
[Crystalline 7-9kHz: still open — the dawn is still happening — the burning continues]
[Erhu: last phrase — incomplete — the Phantom mid-swoop — then silence]
[Purely instrumental throughout, no vocals, commentary-clear, dawn complete]

Story

ORIGIN

NALYOT arrived from the instruction to take the same Chinese electronic framework as GASNET but make it emotional, aggressive, and fast — like a banshee. The Phantom is the right character: it spawns above sleeping-deprived players, swoops repeatedly, and burns in daylight. The banshee connection is structural — the Phantom's erhu high-register scream is not a sound that describes the creature; it is the sound the creature is. The pipa battle tradition arrived from 十面埋伏 (Ambush from Ten Sides) — the most aggressive piece in the traditional pipa repertoire, depicting armies clashing, the chaos of war, the specific acoustic violence of a battlefield. That piece's gun rolling strikes, tan downstrokes, tiao upstrokes, and sha hard cuts are the exact vocabulary for multiple simultaneous Phantom swoop patterns. The dawn inversion arrived as the art decision: every track in the series withholds the 7-9kHz crystalline until the peak of power. NALYOT opens it at dawn — at the Phantom's death.

TITLE MEANING

Russian налёт 'nalyot' means swoop, raid, aerial attack — the specific word for an attack that comes from above, fast, without warning, and withdraws. A nalyot is not an assault (which implies sustained contact) and not a bombing (which implies destruction from distance) but the swoop itself: the fast descent, the impact, the ascent, the circling for the next pass. It names the Phantom's movement pattern exactly. The word is also used for a sudden coat of something — a nalyot of frost, a nalyot of dust — a thin layer left by something that moved through quickly. The Phantom leaves a nalyot of damage. The track is the swoop.

PIPA IN BATTLE

The pipa's battle techniques from 十面埋伏 map directly onto DnB and hardstyle architecture. Gun (滚) — the rolling strike across all strings, producing a rapid descending texture — becomes the amen roll: the same cascading density, the same tactical moment in the phrase. Tan (弹) — the decisive single downstroke — becomes the hardstyle kick: the same committed impact from above. Tiao (挑) — the upward pluck, the counter to tan — becomes the reverse bass: the impact arriving as aftershock. Sha (煞) — the muted stop, silencing the string — becomes the hard cut: the same function, the phrase ending by force. Three simultaneous pipa attack lines encode three Phantoms: each applies a different combination of these techniques, each at incompatible timing, uncoordinated. The battle is three armies. The raid is three Phantoms.

DAWN INVERSION

In every other track in the Minecraft series, the 7-9kHz crystalline band opens at the convergence — the moment of maximum power, the drop, the three-theme alignment, the surge. The crystalline is the reward frequency, the payoff. NALYOT inverts this: the crystalline opens at dawn, as the Phantom burns. The brightest frequency band enters as the character dies. This is not ironic — it is accurate. From the world's perspective, dawn is the resolution. The light is the convergence. The Phantom burning is the drop the world has been building toward since night fell. The crystalline opens correctly. It just opens at the Phantom's expense. The Phantom does not know it is dying. It does not know this light is different.

CONNECTION TO SERIES

NALYOT extends GASNET's Chinese erhu framework from post-dubstep restraint into aggressive battle DnB hardstyle — same cultural instrumentation, opposite energy. The pipa replaces the erhu as the primary technique source: where GASNET used yun (sustained emotional ornament) and heterophony (three near-same lines), NALYOT uses 十面埋伏 battle techniques (percussive, violent, tactically precise) and three fully independent simultaneous attack lines. The dawn inversion is unique in the series — KAPEL opened the crystalline at the moment of return (recognition), DRAKON opened it at three-theme convergence (power), but NALYOT opens it at death (the brightness that destroys). Naive nocturnal punishment is a new emotion type: punitive without judgment, triggered by a condition the punisher cannot evaluate. The Phantom attacks the unsleeping not because it chooses punishment but because that is the trigger. It does not know what sleep is.
